Ichiban All-You-Can-Eat in Pampanga

With the popularity of all-you-can-eat mega restaurants such as Vikings, Yakimix and the like, we weren't surprised to find one up north in San Fernando, Pampanga called Ichiban. We had the chance to try it out for last December for a Christmas dinner with some people from the office.

They had a dimsum station that had only three kinds: siomai, chicken feet and another thing I didn't get :/

This section is a little confusing -- Turon placed beside fried chicken and salad. We all thought these were lumpia at first.

We liked how quickly they refilled the tempura. The gyozas weren't bad as well.

Their sushi section however, was a little on the conservative side, comprised of these:

This may be a little disturbing for some of you. Their raw items were simply displayed on plates atop a counter -- all exposed and without any sort ice nesting!

I usually have these types cooked in soups ala hotpot style, so I was confused as to why they were displayed for cooking on a grill. (???)

Here are some of their cooked dishes:

Drinks station

Dessert station

Not bad for a restaurant that's starting out. For the price, I wish they could improve the hygiene of the food displayed, and choose to leave out certain items off the menu if they could not afford to serve them properly. For another team meeting or a group treat on-a-budget, Ichiban can be an option.
