I'm Officially a Mama! ❤

Since my post last mid-July, I was busy preparing for my birth (39 weeks already that time), stressed over the actual day of labor, gave birth and successfully went through the first three weeks of being a mom. The small glint of hope for normal delivery (given by the head circumference versus pelvis size computation) quickly faded when hours of induction failed to make my baby's head "drop". This led me to go through the inevitable -- giving birth via C-section.

Going through the actual operation, I realized that C-section wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Whenever I wash myself, I silently thank God that I won't have to touch through a then-familiar, now-alien part of my body. On the second day, I was able to stand and go to the washroom on my own. I felt no pain on my suture at all, thanks to the effective painkillers given. I defined the "pain" to be similar to the recovery of the muscles after doing a series of intense lower ab exercises. After a week, I saw my scar looking like a pencil-drawn line across my lower abdomen, smooth and unremarkable. Mobility wasn't an issue. So for people scared of going through C-section the way I was, don't be!

Here's my healthy baby boy at 8.4 lbs, 53 cm! No wonder why he won't fit through my "child-bearing" hips.
