Barcelona Hotel: Hotel Europark

Second honeymoon stop in Europe was in Barcelona, Spain. We were both very excited to scour through the beautiful historical places around Spain, and this country was actually our first choice amongst all European countries, even before France.

The temperature was a little warmer in Spain compared to Paris, arriving at around 11pm that November night at Hotel Europark

We were warmly accommodated by the front desk attendant, and were given maps for touring the city. In a matter of a few minutes, we were given our keys and were able to head to our 7th floor room.

What's nice with this hotel is the fact that a lot of attractions are literally just a stone's throw away. Passeig de Gràcia where Gaudi's works are displayed, the Sagrada Familia, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the La Rambla (shopping street) are reachable by a 10-20 minute walk. On our last day, we took a leisurely stroll to get to the port and to the beaches such as Barceloneta, Icària and Marbella. As the cherry on top, it's two blocks from the Grinona metro station.

The Room
The rooms looked relatively new with a black and white theme. I liked the many number of switches and the just the right number of sockets at the right places to provide Nikko and I ample charging slots. Spain uses the "F" type plug, similar to the "E" type plug we in France. Make sure you bring along your own adaptor (available at Ace Hardware for less than P100) to make things more convenient. In case you forget to bring one, the reception will gladly lend you one.

The bathroom was great, with sink wide enough for light laundry. I loved the stainless sink stand design which we used as clothesline. The ledge was designed perfectly to be space saving and efficient in accommodating all our toiletries. The steam-free mirror was also a plus.
Another thing I really loved about Europe is how we can drink unlimited water from the tap!

The shower area however, was quite small. It was okay to fit me, and but it may be uncomfortable for bigger and taller people than I am. It was okay for Nikko though. Hot water supply was great. It was borderline scalding at the maximum.

Shortly after settling down, we were welcomed by a complimentary bottle of champagne brought in by the hotel staff. This must be thanks to the fact that we mentioned that we are spending our honeymoon there at the "comments or special request" section.
