Accidental Sweets at Marta's Cakes

I have been on a decent diet the past two weeks, with days of indulging balanced by days of plain, healthy eating.

Last Friday night, as rain was pouring heavily at Serendra, I happened to stumble upon Marta's Cakes (which I intended to visit just for restroom use and shelter).

Marta's Cakes has been around for 15 years already, receiving various press raves for their honest-to-goodness cakes. From cupcakes and cake pops, they also design the most gorgeous wedding cakes. Not only are the cakes playful eye candies, you will be surprised to find that they taste even better!

The first cupcake that caught my eye was the cookies and cream variant (P85), which I ordered just because I was embarrassed not to purchase anything after using the loo.

When I finally dug in, the texture felt tough, different from our usual fluffy cupcake versions. As I bit into the forkful, with no exaggeration, I totally forgot about everything that was bothering me that time. The rain, the tummy ache, and the person I was supposed to meet.. Lol. Well, it was just so damn good. It was chilled, and just melts in your mouth. I was literally trembling, using my other hand to push the cake to my fork. I believe I started eating with my hands as well.

I am not a cake fan at all, but I just had to try another one! This time, I went for the lovely red velvet cupcake (P70), which was as good as the first one. Both of them were out of this world amazing, totally worth breaking any diet!

Must try before you die. I'm not kidding.
