Date Night at.. Opus?

Because of the heavy traffic along Quirino, we had to reroute from the usual Makati for movie and dinner. We ended up hanging around Resorts World to watch the Lorax 3D and have dinner at Opus.
The Lorax is cool for people who want to take their minds off the world, but it's really fit for kids ages 10 and below, not for dating couples.
We were pretty tired and weren't too hungry for dinner, considering my rice gyro merienda at 4pm. This is why I proposed Opus for dinner, which Nikko didn't quite like.. Until the food was served.

Complimentary Bread with Butter and Truffle Spread
I couldn't have enough of the truffle spread. Nikko found it too strong though.

Complimentary Prawn and White Beans Crostini

Interesting taste at the perfect quantity of one piece per head

Mushroom Consommé [P280]
Crispy confit chicken wings, porcini flan

As a mushroom lover, I found the soup very good. The broth was mild, complimented by the body of the broken down porcini flan. The dish could have been better if served warmer.

Seared Scallops [P380]
Cauliflower foam, bacon crumble

Nikko found this a little better than average. 7/10

Angel Hair Pasta [P320]
Shrimp, mussels, saffron, fennel, chili

This dish was too salty. I complained to the waiters and they automatically replaced it with a toned down version -- which I still found salty. 2/10

Crispy Skin Pork Belly [P580]
Parsnip purée, braised lentils, elderflower, stewed apple

Nikko: The pork was cut too thick and and was presented with too much fat.
Even the 6 footer man couldn't finish it. Haha.

To end every bar visit, I will cap it with my favorite drink's bar price:
Chivas Regal 12 at P260/shot, P3,500 per bottle
Chivas Regal 18 at P450/shot, P6,300
