CBTL: My Remote Workstation

CBTL is the most conducive extension to my workplace. This is the only other place I can work for hours on end, and actually get things done. You can find me here during cram weeknights and weekends, or having alone time to write or read a good book.

In contrast to other coffee venues, I like the drinks better here in Coffee Bean. Depending on the shop type, products can range from your basic coffee, sandwiches and pastries, to flavorful frozen yogurt and pasta dishes. I find drinks here are of superior quality than Starbucks. Try comparing Frappucinno from Starbucks with Coffee Bean's Ice Blended, both without whipped cream and you will see the difference. CBTL's with and without whipped cream tastes the same and as good, while Starbucks' 'without' tastes.. Well, naked. You know what I mean.

Number two reason why I like The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf better than the rest is because of the ambiance. In the branches I go to, you will see less of the "aspirational" market ikanga. Less chances of having encounters with rowdy teenagers chatting loudly, having ratio of actual buyers to seat-takers 2:10.

Don't get me wrong, I love Starbucks best for to-go and for their fancy tumblers. And when there's no CBTL around, Starbucks is my close second anyway, accessibility giving the brand a bump in my ranking.

Bottom-line: I can't work at any home as an out-of-office alternative, because the sight of a bed is my kryptonite. Separate topic which I will richly discuss on. BED. My favorite thing in the world.
